Title: Parent Support Group Children BPD
Post by: KHC_33 on November 15, 2018, 08:23:20 PM
Is there any support groups to help parents of kids with BPD?

I have enrolled my youngest as my oldest BPD daughter lashes out at times. My youngest is confused by her behavior to self harm, suicidal idealism etc and BPD mode.

I know growing up with a BPD mom but my daughter is more passive. My mother is aggressive. It's very different having a parent vs a child.

Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I would love to connect. Tell me what works for you.

Hi!  Everyone on this board has a child with BPD.

Welcome. Can you tell us more? Ages? Types of problems?

Just got diagnosed this Sun. I am currently staying in a hotel out of town while she's at a center. We are going to the mood disorders clinic tomorrow. The plan is additional meds and revap the treatment plan as far as DBT/management of BPD. We have been here almost a week.

No the current meds she's on was for depression/anixety only (hasn't been working). She needs additional. DBT yes she has been doing it for a while but now they will target specific treatment directed towards BPD

Hi KHC_33  :hi:

I join Skip welcoming you to our parents support group. Sorry to hear the dep/anxiety meds are not working, how long has your daughter been on them? It took a while to get my 30yr daughter dep/anxiety meds right back in 2015/16. How has she received the recent diagnosis?

WDx

Been almost 3 years since. She tried zoloft then she was put on prozac.
My daughter is afraid. Scared she's going to be like my BPD Mom.

Thank you for your warm welcome
