My significant other has BPD.  She has been told to seek out a therapist with experience in this, and especially with DBT, which is recommended for her treatment. 

We need to find the best options for therapists who specialize in BPD and DBT, in the Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland area.

We cannot afford it, so we also need them to take insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.)

whats going on with you and your significant other right now? how long have the two of you been together, and what led up to her diagnosis?

The problem that I have found with the Psychology Today listings is that: Most of them just check off boxes of many conditions and methods, but when you go to their webpage or contact their office, they don't really have a lot of experience with BPD, and they don't really fully utilize DBT.

This is one of those things that requires people who know - 1) experts who know who these doctors are and if they are good, and 2) people who have experience with these doctors in the same way.

The best place I've found is the Behavioral Tech website.  This is the organization founded by Marsha Linehan, the developer of DBT, to train practitioners.  There is a "Find a Therapist" (https://behavioraltech.org/resources/find-a-therapist/) page on the site.

Can you tell us a little more about your relationship?  How long have you been together?
