Title: Good news
Post by: FaithHopeLove on December 13, 2018, 08:33:42 AM
My DS 24 BPD showed real empathy towards me. He texted to say that he noticed I have been anxious and wanted to know why. I told him the truth. I am grieving over the loss of the child and family I thought I had. I went on to tell him I am.seeing a therapist who is helping me and I am ready to accept who he is not who I first wanted him to be. The next day he texted back and said "thank you for accepting me as I am." This is a very big step for both of us. Radical acceptance really does work. Have hope. People can change and relationships with our children can improve.

Hi!

I just had to reply after reading your post.  That is wonderful news and it is so good that you both were able to share and hear each other!

Hi FaithHopeLove
Beautiful   I am so happy for you and your son.   Despite his struggles he is aware and cares for you, he reached out to you. I'm sure he felt comfort that you are also looking after you, doing your best. It can be a worrying time receiving a diagnosis, will you be accepted? I know it was for my daughter so for your DS to hear you accept him, who he is, is truly powerful, supportive and loving.
