Title: Slowly making progress...
Post by: cloudyday24 on January 14, 2019, 06:47:59 PM
Hi there

Continued from my first topic “first post not sure what to do”.

The weekend went okay, not as tough as I thought. We are communicating more, but it is clear that she’s holding grudges and anger about lots of things.  Every topic that comes up between us leads to her saying how she hates this or that.

We are planning to go back to try counseling, but I’m doing some research, and am going to meet with my own counselor, before I book anything. What i find somewhat encouraging is that I haven’t been the target of her rants over the weekend, and given some issues we had today she was quite civil and realistic in her talks with me (she had to miss work due to a emergency with her relative, and I was unable to answer my phone so I couldn’t help). Normally I would get the full blame for this, but for the first time in a long time I don’t feel like
I am (not yet anyways).

Just sharing my update. If anything, the not JADEing and validation strategies are helping with our comminication skills and I’m happy I can share that with the board.  Please feel free to reply if you have anything to add as well.

I’ll keep you all posted, likely after my next counselor meeting.
