Title: What do YOU give yourself permission for today?
Post by: freespirit on February 02, 2019, 07:42:43 PM
Hi bpdfamily  :hi:

As an adult child of NPD/BPD parents who did not give me permission to exist, I am aware of the importance of going within and re-setting permissions.

I understand awareness is key to my recovery from c-ptsd, as I can only go as fast as the programming I am aware of.

A good question for me to ask myself is - what do I need to give myself permission for today?

Today I give myself permission to slow down.

What do YOU give yourself permission for today?

I am giving myself permission to examine and reject the distortions I was taught about me.

Freespirit!   This is a great idea for a thread!  Thank you.

Slowing down is hard, but so necessary and worth it.  Don't forget that you have us here to lean on.

I like this:  re-setting permissions.

Go see a matinee (Glass, it was ok). Only do dishes and sweep the floor at home,  cycle some laundry but not fold. Chill, despite there being more housework. No kids this weekend. I deserve a Saturday to relax.  Folding can wait for tomorrow, in addition to working on D6's room to get it ready for a bedroom set so she stops sleeping with either me or her brother. Defer taxes also, though I've got all of the statements except for one.

You're welcome.

How are you doing?

Looking good and feeling fine today Harri   I think the trick is completely giving ourselves to the process, which helps us clear things more quickly and efficiently, then just remembering gratitude and having fun, even if that just means putting on some music and dancing in the kitchen, like me tonight

I see the picture of me dancing in the kitchen last night made it onto the internet, it was a bit of a wild night!

Do you know these guys?

Today, I give myself permission to risk losing everything to remain true to myself and my recovery, even if that means standing alone.

Thank you for being playful Parrot,   I have actually had that meme for weeks, and have been waiting on the perfect time to use it in a thread
