I am seeking suggestions of others dealing with a loved one with BPD. My son is isolating himself, doesn’t leave his room a. We have been through countless counselors, psychiatrists, and several hospitalizations.

Hi apd1243

I join once removed in welcoming you to BPD Family  :hi:

I'm so sorry for the circumstances that brought you here but I'm really glad you found us. You'll find many parents here who are learning and supporting other parents. You are not alone.

Has your son been receiving any treatment? You say he's isolating in his room, do you think he's got some depression going on?

We have lots of resources here and I encourage you to read all you can about BPD, keep posting and reading and joining other threads.

In case you haven't seen it, a great place to start is a post pinned to the top of this board. Here's a direct link:

hello apd1243
I join the others in welcoming you. I am the mother of a 24 year old son who has diagnosed BPD and cannabis addiction. This group has helped me a lot. I think it could help you too. You are not alone on this difficult journey.

Hello apd1243

Welcome, I'm glad you've reached out for support by joining us here, as FLHKC says you are not alone.

Isolating oneself can be an indication of depression as Only Human suggests. BPD is often co-morbid with depression, it was for my 30DD back in 2015/16 and it was by managing her depression through anti depressants she felt some relief and was then able to focus and engage in helping herself further with BPD ~ how long has your son been isolating himself, how old is he? It's so deeply painful to see our children struggle, withdraw and know what to do, I get you. The tools and skills we learn here help improve communication our relationship with our sensitive children, you'll see parents here have break throughs, building trust is key.

Can you share what's been happening, you say he's been through countless counselors, psychiatrists, hospital admissions?

Along with parents I'm here to support you, I'm glad you made it here, it's been a life changing experience for me and I wish that for you too.

Welcome again.
