Title: New Here - Just saying hello
Post by: NightBreeze on May 23, 2019, 03:26:39 PM
I see a therapist who suggested I read about BPD to try to understand my spouse. I feel like I live in a crazy house. She lies all the time (because she thinks telling the truth will make her look bad in some way?)then denies she ever said such a thing, she seems to be mad at me on a daily basis and thinks I should know what she is mad about, but I have no idea, she misperceives things I've said or done and when I try to explain it never fixes anything - she just escalates until she is furious and my stomach is all tied up in knots ... and this is just a small part of it.

I learned about this website and I'm here to learn how other people have learned to cope without giving up on the relationship (which I have wanted to do on more than one occasion because it all seemed so hopeless) because despite it all I love her and just want things to get better

Hello NightBreeze and welcome  :hi:

I'm sorry to hear that things are so bad with your wife. Yes, it can feel like living in a crazy house! We get it.

When your therapist suggested you read about BPD, what have you read so far?

We have a lot of information on this site that can help you to better understand BPD, as well as tools and skills that can really help make things better. You can start exploring them under the "Tools" tab at the top of the page.
