Title: Update on BPD- addict son
Post by: FaithHopeLove on June 22, 2019, 07:30:08 AM
Friends, You have all been so helpful and caring as I go through this ordeal and I appreciate you for it. The latest is he remains in the locked psych ward of the hospital where he has calmed down a bit. We have given his psychiatrist the details of his history and now pray he will accept the treatment he is offered. My husband and I are united as a team and taking care of ourselves and our relationship. Yesterday I relaxed at the beach. Today I have a therapist appointment. One day at a time

Hi FaithHopeLove :hi:

Thanks for this update. Considering his extreme behaviors, I am glad that he's still in the psych ward being evaluated. I hope his psychiatrist and the other people there will be able to help him.

Very good that you and your husband are investing in self-care

Yes, one step at a time, one day at a time. Take care

Hi Faith,

I am glad that the hospital is keeping your son, and you were able to give the psychiatrist a rundown of the history. He may be uncomfortable, but he is safe, and hopefully this will be the start of him getting some much needed mental health care.

As for you and your husband, you deserve this break from the constant worry about your son's suicidal thoughts, addiction, and disruption of your lives. Good to see that you are united as a team, and so glad that you can get extra support from a T right now.

More prayers being lifted up for you,

Redeemed

Hi Faith

I too am glad that your son is safe, still in the psych ward being evaluated and you've had the opportunity to provide the history, I hope gives you some relief.

You and your H are amazing, keep up the self care and care for each other.

Are you also going for your Saturday water aerobics?

Thinking of you.

Hope.

I haven't been doing water aerobics lately because of my eczema but I think I can start again Monday and even bring my husband with me. The exercise will do us good. Plus it is fun and doesn't feel like a "work out" to me.

That's it! Water, nature is healing.

Faith, when my DD was in crisis, I'd come back from work, lie on the lounge floor on my back for 10mins and the feeling of gravity, my body sinking into the floor gave me huge relief. Our earth holding me still was my workout, it's what felt right, what I could manage. I still practice this today.

I've shared this many times over the last year or so. Following crisis, my fear of losing her to her engaging in treatment (2 years). My DD shared she can now feel the kindness of others and she is grateful. I'll take that moment with me to my grave an beyond.

Your loving son is there Faith, us parents dig deep to get them back.

Along with others I'm right here, walking with you and your H.

Thank you for encouraging me to hope, WD. One of my most fervent prayers is that my son will one day feel the love that is all around him.

Faith-
What a difference a few days can make.  I'm praying your son will cooperate with the treatment plan, and get to a better place.  I know the feeling of temporary relief when they are hospitalized.  You are using this time wisely, enjoying the beach and working on things you can change.  Continue being strong.

Stay strong.  So glad you are taking care of you. Self care was the catalyst for your DH to be on the same page.  It also provided an opportunity for your DS to be safe and under treatment for today. One day at a time.

So much good stuff here, Faith. I'm so sorry things have gotten so awful with DS, and I'm glad he's physically safe - I'm sure you are sleeping easier these days. Great that you could share DS's history with the psych staff, great that you and H are united, great that you spent a day at the beach, and are taking care of not only yourselves but your relationship as well

Onward!

~ OH
