Title: His medication may not be working anymore. Post by: isilme on June 23, 2019, 08:23:47 PM H was diagnosed with type II diabetes 2 years ago. There is a link between low sugar and high sugar and his moods. His medication seemed to be helping till maybe last month, when he started having complaints of blurry vision and other high sugar issues. I got him to test a few times, he hates it, refuses most days and if I mention if refuses even more, so I have to accept it’s his health he has to do it. Anyway, high sugars also increase irritability and that’s where we are right now. He’d been pretty even overall, with some nasty outbursts but they weren’t daily. He won’t agree to see his doc until his next appt, June, and she’s hard to get into anyway, not many medical personnel here. Just needed to write this out.
Today has been the low level sigh and complaining, got yelled at Friday because a former ‘friend’ we haven’t wanted to spend time with anyway didn’t invite us to her going away party, and yelled at last night for asking if I could have one of two cookies we bought at a bake sale... seeing as he’s diabetic and half the time buys things for both of us, others jumps on me for ‘stealing’ his food. ‘All the time’. Sigh. Title: Re: His medication may not be working anymore. Post by: Scarlet Phoenix on June 25, 2019, 06:55:08 AM Hi isilme, how are you today?
Title: Re: His medication may not be working anymore. Post by: isilme on June 25, 2019, 03:30:15 PM Been a crazy week and it's only Tuesday. H made real efforts yesterday to manage his emotions so I need to give him lots of credit for that. Managing your emotions when you have BPD is like running a marathon with no feet.
I had a bad day, I received a verbal warning there had been a complaint about my clothes for work not meeting the standards of "professional" in my office. I was very embarrassed and confused, as I am one of the VERY few who don't show up in jeans and Tshirts. I work on a college campus, I am a very low-level administrator, and so I wear button blouses and pencil skirts. Every so often I try a work-dress, or slacks, sometimes based on weather or illness. I am overweight and that can make my clothes form fitting, but I don't believe they are too tight, too low or too high. The complaint was vague, my boss had to tell it to me, and he wasn't even told what aspect of my clothes was the issue. It sounds almost like someone was mad at me and that was the ebst they could do as a complaint. But it made me cry a lot yesterday, I felt horrible about it. And H was good and worked really hard all day to make me feel better. And he worked hard to ignore his abuse and mistreatment by HR when he was on the same campus. His sugar is still too high, 140s fasting, but he seems to be listening when I tell him that all the things he's describing as far as feeling poorly re sugar related. we will see how it goes when I go to ym knitting club tonight an hour away. I'm sorry about the complaint you got, it doesn't sound very professional on the part of the person having posted the complaint. Excerpt But it made me cry a lot yesterday, I felt horrible about it. And H was good and worked really hard all day to make me feel better. And he worked hard to ignore his abuse and mistreatment by HR when he was on the same campus. It's wonderful that your husband made a real effort to be there for you when you needed him. As you say, it's not the easiest for someone with BPD.Excerpt His sugar is still too high, 140s fasting, but he seems to be listening when I tell him that all the things he's describing as far as feeling poorly are sugar related. we will see how it goes when I go to ym knitting club tonight an hour away. I'm glad you're able to communicate some about this. Happy knitting! |
