Title: I am continuing to learn self compassion Post by: lint on August 24, 2019, 06:34:04 PM Hello,
I have lived decades with my significant other, trying to be there for him, understand, forgive, start again, etc.. Now after he has had a diagnosis I am finally better grasping that it is really not my fault and not up to me to help him but better be there for myself. I am continuing to learn self compassion. But I would love to connect with others with similar difficulties and see what they are doing to overcome lonliness and better thrive in very difficult situations. Loneliness and isolation can be a common problem for members who have been coping with long-term BPD relationships. While doing everything we can to improve things with our partner, we may lose touch with friends, family, and activities we used to enjoy. Can you tell us more about your situation? RC |
