Title: Hope from his T
Post by: cbusmom on September 30, 2019, 01:03:39 PM
My dsbpd 22 and I see the same therapist. I honestly needed someone that I could just talk to as I have mentioned before how much my H avoids any emotionally charged conversations.  The bonus is that I am able to help the T to see more quickly the true extent of his bpd traits.
Yesterday at my session she told me something that filled me with such hope. She says that ds is truly open to getting help. He might still be in the land of denial in that he thinks his anger and splitting on people are totally justified but according to her she thinks she will be able to help him with the DBT. She says this his willingness and openness to the therapy gives him a huge boost with his chances to have a very normal life.

Such great news and so glad to hear for you and for them. It can make all the difference if they are motivated and it sounds like they are! :)

cbusmom such heartening news!   T is sharing connecting with your son.

That's the moment I stood back, knowing my DD was in good hands.

Hope.
