Title: Wife With BPD Says Others That Speak Truthfully/Factually Have Mental Problems
Post by: GR on October 01, 2019, 03:56:58 PM
My wife with BPD says that others that speak factually or truthfully have mental problems because they are obsessive/compulsive, and are black and white in their thinking. This means that if a person has a body of knowledge that they utilize in their "navigation of the world", they are obsessive/compulsive, black and white in their thinking, and have mental problems. For example, if a seventh generation resident of New Orleans places their life experience within the context of their knowledge of the history/culture of Louisiana, they are obsessive/compulsive, black and white in their thinking, and have mental problems. According to my wife, if this same seventh-generation New Orleans resident knows nothing about New Orleans, or that it is even in Louisiana, they are a normal, mentally healthy person who is flexible in their thinking. And she will argue this for hours, days, months, and never budge an inch. Does anyone else have a spouse with this same trait that truth or facts or not only meaningless but should be considered a negative?
