Title: Both children have BPD
Post by: Acesnip on October 04, 2019, 07:31:43 PM
Hi there,
I’m a mum of two adult children, my son is 27, not living at home. My daughter is 21 and still living at home.
My son, was diagnosed with BPD  3yrs ago, after many years of mental health problems. He’s in a much better place now and is able to control his emotions fairly well, However, the traits are always there bubbling underneath.
My daughter has also had mental health problems since she was about 14, she was only diagnosed in June this year.
I’m  really struggling to cope with my daughter, she blames me for everything she perseves to go wrong in her life, when all I do is try to help and support her!
I just don’t know if I can take anymore of her rages towards me x

Hi Mumsnip
Welcome to the group. I am glad you found us. We get it about the raging and blaming people with BPD so often do. My son does it too sometimes. It is their way of coping with the intolerable pain they feel. Granted it is not the best way but it sort of works for them in the moment and in that moment they are desperate. Did your son used to do it too? What helped him get better? Coming here is a great thing to do for yourself. What else are you doing in the way of self care? We are all with you.
Hugs
Faith
