Title: First post on this site...seeking support
Post by: Mo9 on October 08, 2019, 09:31:41 PM
Hi...I'm the wife of a person with BPD. We have been married 27 years and I just recently began reading "Stop Walking on Egg Shells" to try to establish boundaries and learn responses to minimize conflicts. I am trying to not allow his moods to steal my joy. It is exhausting! I found myself drinking to numb myself and am 6 months sober, which is an added challenge. I am hoping to find connections that can empathize, encourage and provide me an outlet to others that understand.

Thanks in advance,

Mo9

*welcome*

You're in the right place.  We're sorry for your tough situation, but are glad you've found us.  Many of us have been in decades-long relationships.  It can be tough, to say the least.  Establishing boundaries and preserving the joy are great things to be doing.  Congrats on being 6 months sober!

This is a great place not just to get support, but also to refine your use of coping tools that can improve things.  Can you tell us a bit about one or two boundaries you are implementing?
