Title: at the end of my rope
Post by: LuckyMimi on October 11, 2019, 07:54:08 PM
Hello,
I'd love to hear from any one experiencing a 2nd marriage with a spouse dealing with not only BPD but also, alcoholism. First of all, we don't have children at home as ours are all grown and married. We're in our 60's (been married 7 years)   A little background, my first marriage was for 14 years with 2 children, my husband had an affair and I divorced him. I was single for 16 years. So here I am with someone that is struggling with so much. It's so lonely and I have so very  much resentment for him. I would like to hear from anyone in a similar relationship, I feel like I'm loosing my mind. My family & friends are not the sounding board I want or need, none of them are in any thing close to this mess.
Thank you in advance for any advice...

You are in the right place and welcome to this community. I would start with learning as much as you can about BPD. Stop Walking on Eggshells by Mason and Kreger is a great start. Know that you are not alone and that the reactions and responses are not your fault. Being married to a BPD spouse is a game-changer that will challenge your own mental and emotional health. Stay strong and trust your instincts.

Thank you, I truly appreciate your comment. I 'm reading the book now which is how I found this website.
