I've joined because my wife of 13 years seems likely to have BPD or a related personality disorder. While I've known about BPD for a long time, it's taken until now to have my "ah-ha moment." For me, the breaking point was when she told the kids (8 and 10) that she wanted to divorce me and move out, and that if she does it will be their fault. She defended saying that on the basis that it was "true" and that she wants to be honest. It turns out everything is actually my fault. I'm starting individual therapy in a few weeks. My current dilemma is explaining to my wife why I am distant and not interested in sex (because I don't feel emotionally safe with her), without having a huge blowup. I'm sure that's nothing new to many here. Thanks for just existing! |
