Title: My mom has BPD
Post by: Supportandlove on October 20, 2019, 07:27:24 AM
Hello! My mom has BPD. She didn t seek treatment or therapy. I am 21 and I’m living only with her. I want to get my life back, and I ve read half of the book ‘STOP WALKING ON EGGSHELLS” and still reading. I don t know how to react or what to say when she s accusing, insulting and telling me illogical things. I belive that I’ve stopped taking them personally, but I still don t know how to react and how to really cope with this emotionally stressful situations. Sometimes I’m feeling  really helpless. I want to meet here a friend that has/had someting similar in his/her life and knows what to do in this situations.

Hi Supportandlove and welcome.

We all understand how difficult these relationships can be. The insults and illogical things are fairly common. There are many tools here you can use to make improvements in your relationship with your mom, and also cope with your own emotions too.

I know the feeling, we all do. We are all friends here and you will find many similarities in others stories. There are other members here that have difficulty with their relationships with their mother too.

Do you get out much or are you always indoors? What do you do in your spare time?

LT.

Tough situation to be in if you're living with her especially. A good place to start would be SET, as in the book.

What, specifically, are you struggling with?
