Anger episodes usually consist of lots of verbal insults from her, throwing or punching things and getting in my face to yell.
However today she got angry after talking about her hair. She dyed half of it yesterday trying to match previous blonde to her natural. This morning she said she thought the blend looked good and i said it looked way too dark. A drastic nearly 2 shades difference from the dyed to natural.
Anyways, this turned into a huge fight of me being an ahole cause she didnt ask my opinion. I tried talking to her about how i never said it was ugly, was just pointing it out from my view so she could try lightening it if need be. Didnt matter, the fight continued with her telling me to f off and gtfo. I foolishly continued to try and talk to calm her down which resulted in her very detailedly saying she was going to kill me. "Im going to kill you, dont talk to me anymore and get out of my sight or i will stab you. Ill stab you over and over till you bleed out and f'ing die."

Not trying to be dramatic, but shes never acted this way befor. Esp over such a small thing like her hair..

Thoughts? Just overworked words from her or possible real threat?

Yep. That's a very serious and frightening thing to say. You should take it seriously.

May be a dumb question... But take it seriously how? I mean, it's not like i'm just going to call the cops for a threat. I can only watch over my shoulder so much while keeping in mind this is a new possibility..
So other than that what is the appropriate way to rsspond to this? She wont/ cant go to ,therapy because the only 2 covered under insurance near us were very.. Unknowledgable i guess. And a 3rd has a 3+ month wait.

Leave. Move out. If it turns into stalking, consider a restraining order.

There are also national numbers for domestic violence that will be able to give you help and referrals.
