Title: Positive vibes needed: what are you thankful for?
Post by: pursuingJoy on November 17, 2019, 08:15:14 AM
BPD fam, having a rough day. H left early this am to spend all day with his mom, which triggers anxiety on so many levels. I could use some positive vibes as I try to maintain control of my fear.

I'd love to know what you're thankful for, what makes you smile, a fun memory, something good that's happened recently.

TIA friends.

Hi pj!  Here's to managing anxiety!

Things that make me smile:

~ We had snow flurries earlier today.  No accumulation but I still feel like a kid when I see snow.  (I am ignoring the adult responsibility that goes along with it for the purposes of this thread :) )

~ My brother and nephew are coming to visit today!

~ Hot showers and coffee in the morning.  :)

Easy.

1. God in my life. I recently got saved from a huge fine regarding my dog. This helps me feel so relieved; I can see the outcome letter from where I'm sitting—it would have taken me a very, very long time to pay off.

2. My blessings at work. I was at a restaurant today and I saw a job advertisement for staff. I feel so thankful that I'm not stuck worrying jobs with that kind of pay anymore—and being away from all those attendant difficulties.

It feels a bit naughty—but when I'm dealing with a difficult person that is much older than me; I remember God will claim them soon. I think that even if we don't attack the person that is causing us difficulty in our lives—we can be thankful that we do have a lot more going for us in our lives than them. I'm happy to share the last one with you because it's served me very well for a few years now. I feel good thinking about this because it's often in the face of a storm. A lot of people without a horrible family member won't get it rofl.

Enjoy your weekend.   |iiii

Lolll gotbushels I read this to say, "God in my life, I recently got saved (me: oh how wonderful!).

So glad you don't have to pay the fine! Love it when things work out!

Thank you so much for this little treasure.

So much to be thankful for, every day. Thank you for sharing & keeping my spirits up. I kept myself busy and occupied with positive things (like retail therapy and time with kids).

Hugs.

My gratitude list today...

1) Glorious Gulf Coast weather, mid-70s expected all week unlike others, I loathe snow and cold weather). I will be prepping my courtyard garden for the winter and getting several small trees into the ground that are recommended for November planting.

2) My mom (93) has fully recovered from squamous cell skin cancer surgery, followed by a tooth extraction -- pretty easy recuperations, because nothing is really simple at 93. She's back to her normal self.

3) I have two mini schnauzers snuggled on the sofa with me. They are the best!

Ahh. :love-it:

1) Clean fresh air every day.
2) Clean fresh water every day.
3) Trees and bright flowers and birdsongs...
4) Bark thins (snacking chocolate with pumpkin seed and just the right amount of sea salt)...every day.
Not necessarily in that order.

GaGrl, we had two miniature Schnauzers and they'd bounce running through the yard. So funny. I miss the one dog a whole lot.

It's cold here right now so enjoy the warm weather for me, and cheers to you and your mom for successfully navigating aging health issues! That's worth celebrating!

Our little female bounces through the yard like a rabbit!  It looks like she has springs in her legs. The larger male is a racer -- he has a figure-8 he races around two of the oak trees in the yard. They are wonderful company -- so smart and easy to train, also.

1. I discovered that almond milk is actually pretty good in coffee.
2. I got a very thick fuzzy new wool sweater.
3. I'm getting a new trellis for the backyard with jasmine.
