Title: How to communicate with BPD daughter that will not respond to me
Post by: higher power on December 09, 2019, 03:16:39 PM
After having a massive anxiety disorder, my psychatrist said the my relationship with my daughter was the cause.  After any episode that does not go her way, she blames me for causing her issues, then withdraws for months and does  not talk to me.  She has been through an IOP and it was helpful, but has recently relapsed.  She always sides with her father who is my x-husband, and he continually rescues her financially.  She is currently on a medical disability and on meds for bipolar disorder. She is 37 years old, and has exhibited this behavior since she was 16. I am also a recovering alcoholic with 21 years of sobriety. My therapist said to send her emails from time to time, which usually leads to her communicating with me, when she needs me.  I have a difficult time pretending this behavior is not happening and has continued to swept under the rug. Don't know how to proceed.

Hello,
It is very frustrating to know how to communicate .  Has she also been diagnoses with Borderline Personality Disorder as well?
