Title: My adult child Post by: swheeler on December 23, 2019, 10:01:11 AM My daughter has been struggling with her mental health forever. She is 29. She just got out of the hospital a week after Thanksgiving. She was in the hospital for taking an overdose of pills. She is always mad at me. I try my hardest to help her but no matter what I am always in a no win situation. My heart breaks for her because she cannot see things clear and she is miserable. She has pushed almost all of her friends away. She is lucky she is still working, she was pulled over 2 times for dwi. I worry for her constantly. Does anyone have any advice?

It is most frustrating when they are adults because there is only so much we can do. However, there is hope. I am not sure if your daughter has been diagnosed with BPD ? If so, please take a look under the "tools" drop down box on the top of this page. This will give some basics for you. Another concept is some self care. Are you eating, sleeping properly? Can you?
Title: Re: My adult child Post by: swheeler on December 25, 2019, 09:05:27 AM I am trying to take care of myself. Sometimes I use alcohol as a quick fix. I do run which helps me clear my head. My daughter was diagnosed with Bi-Polar but I think she may have bee mis diagnosed. Many of her behaviors are the ones I have read on BPD. Thank you for your response!
