Title: Mostly restored to normal dysfunction
Post by: Lola B on December 23, 2019, 10:26:27 PM
We are about 85% recovered from the severe trauma of our horrible car accident only in terms of our relationship. I consider that a win!

My BPD daughter has turned into her father with me. I divorced him 15 years ago because he was crude, angry, nasty, negative, entitled, and many other qualities.

I hear that many people her age behave similarly.

I have to say, since this is my confessional, that had I known this is how the next generation would be, I would have opted out or partnered with someone who was equally committed to raising wholesome loving people.

I find my daughters one friend and her twin sister impossibly indulged and I judge their parents for taking the easy way out. I’m compared to them and always fall cruelly short.

Since when is it smart to send kids across the country paying for air, apartment, food, school, buying them a brand new infinity, and even giving them gas money so they can get drunk, high, and hook up indiscriminately.

At least my nasty kid doesn’t conduct her disgraceful behavior outside the home

Hi Lola,

I totally get what you are saying!
My parents tried to get me to marry someone with those values but I didn't listen and I rebelled.

And as to the parents who take the easy way out ... I'm with you on that one!
Frustrating beyond belief.

I absolutely adore my beautiful troubled son.  Still, I would never give him the fuel to feel entitled and selfish and everything that goes with what you described.

Happy almost New Year!
