Title: All over the map
Post by: Lola B on January 18, 2020, 01:52:03 PM
My BPD/traumatized daughter is unlikeable. She is unpleasant, seeks debate and hostility nearly always, but speaks to our pets in a most offputtingly saccharin way. I have no one to share these ugly thoughts about my child with. She has made me a very unattractive option for partnership and has years before she is independent.

I feel utterly disgusting speaking this way about someone I know, much less my daughter. That means more guilt shame and heartache. I beg god to remedy this. It persists.

We all are beyond our ability to cope. What is the reason for this madness?

Like war, greed, cruelty, etc.,there is no good reason for so much pain.

We get it.  I love my son, but I don't like him.  I don't even know him any more.  I wish I had an answer for you about why mental illness exists.  however the last thing you need is to beat up on yourself.  No shame or guilt here , okay? Thanks for writing in, continue to do so as you need to.

I understand and sympathize.

I do recommend that you read some of the articles here, and also Valerie Porr's book on BPD. There are some counter-intuitive things you can do to make your interactions with your daughter more pleasant.
