Title: New, hoping for help w mom, I'm the last one standing
Post by: IWALY on January 27, 2020, 04:16:07 PM
Hi,

A lifetime of dealing with instability, hurt - physical and mental, , being a parent when I am the child, the constant lying and narcissism, I am worn out.

One of my brothers cut off mom about 16 years ago, the other severely limits interaction.  That used to be me, I kept my distance and it worked but that has recently changed.  Kind of the last one standing, mom is 82 and needs help.  Increased interaction has been stressful, there is conflict, anger and guilt.

Trying to cope.

Hi and welcome.

You are not alone.  We all understand how difficult it is to deal with a family member with BPD or BPD traits so you are not alone.  We also have several others who are navigating a relationship with an aging parent with BPD.

What is your biggest struggle at this point?

Hi  :hi:

I just wanted to say welcome. I’m new here too and I’m also dealing with my aging uBPD mother.

I can really relate to your saying your trying to cope. That’s how I feel as well.

In the few days I’ve been on this site, I’ve found both the interactions and the access to various resources to be incredibly helpful (and helping me to manage some of my anxiety). I hope this will be the case for you as well.

Again, welcome!
