Title: New and can't believe there are others out there who might understand Post by: rbright812 on February 19, 2020, 01:06:04 PM I have just come to realize there is a name for this HELL that I have been living in. Not only that, but there are others out there who can relate. I don't have a diagnosis yet, but I started reading about BPD last Friday and I am absolutely convinced that is what is going on. :help:

I'm also new here (about a week) and the people here are wonderful, warm, and sincere. I've gotten a lot of help already with specific issues I was concerned about. You're in a safe place here, among friends.
Best wishes Title: Re: New and can't believe there are others out there who might understand Post by: Las1604 on February 19, 2020, 02:37:18 PM Welcome! There's some really smart people here who have been put through the ringer. My story pales in comparison to some here. I guess I should consider myself fortunate to only be dating for around 6 months before being discarded. Some others have relationships that last 20+ years. Imagine the turmoil that can put them through.

There's some really smart people here who have been put through the ringer. My story pales in comparison to some here. I guess I should consider myself fortunate to only be dating for around 6 months before being discarded. Some others have relationships that last 20+ years. Imagine the turmoil that can put them through. 30 years down the road, the warning signs were there after 3 months. However, my partner made me feel loved like never before. Amazingly, after nearly 25 years of celibacy, I still feel a closeness with my pwBPD that can be unmatched. Unfortunately, 10 minutes late, I can be the "cruelest person" she knows! About a month ago, my partner declared I have BPD. As a result, I read Stop Walking on Eggshells, saw a therapist specializing in the illness, and regularly visit this site. I am in a much better space than I was a month ago because of those three things. Good luck and welcome! I think that coming to this forum and realizing that there is a name for hell and that there are others who have lived through it was the biggest single breakthrough that I've had. Reading books about it and understanding that it has been studied, and that there are tools for surviving...maybe even thriving in a BPD relationships gave me hope for life that had been drained from my being. Make the most of the experience of the many, kind people on this forum! It can really save your life. |
