Title: Therapy
Post by: cheekie on February 19, 2020, 03:58:35 PM
My 18 year old daughter will not go to therapy.  She just spent 30 minutes reaming me out about my parenting and refuses to get help.  What can I do?

Hi Cheeky. Welcome to the group. You are not alone. Many if not most of our children refuse treatment at some point. The truth is you can't force them into it. Try not to take the tirades seriously. It's not about you. It's about her own anxiety. Hope this helps a little. We are here for you.

Get ready to hear what a terrible monster the therapist is.

On the other hand, if she likes the therapist, that's worse, because it means she has them fooled.

If you think her persecution complex is bad now...
