Title: My adult stepchild has BPD
Post by: BlendedwithBP on February 24, 2020, 07:55:46 PM
Hi all! Just finding this group is a huge relief, I’m already feeling less alone. A little background, my husbands oldest child with his ex-wife was diagnosed with BPD at the age of 19. He is now 21 and we are stuck in the cycle of not wanting to see him in pain and not wanting to put the rest of the family in financial and emotional distress.  Thanks for this group already and the great resources we have found thanks to BPD central!

It's hard to see these kids/young adults in such extreme pain and yet at the same time the intensity takes a toll on us, too.

Has your stepson (SS21) been in your life a while? It sounds like there are other kids or family members affected by his behavior. How are they doing?

If you feel comfortable sharing, how does SS21's BPD symptoms present themselves and is he living with you?
