Title: Specific question...are my actions hurting?
Post by: Harvester on March 03, 2020, 07:57:22 AM
Hello,

I’ve learned much about BPD in the last 2 months since my DD was diagnosed.  To my dismay, I learned I did many things wrong, for the right reasons.  I’m happy to report that my DD will stay in contact with me via text, and I count this as a blessing.  However, there is no real communication.  I have no idea what’s happening in her life and she doesn’t ask about my life.  I’ll text her about once a week to tell her I’m thinking of her and I miss her.  Here’s my question:  am I hurting her by doing this?

I think it's great that you're learning so much. I hope you stick around and learn more. To answer your question no I don't think of weekly brief supportive message is harmful. In fact I think it's good
