Title: therapist Post by: LouisaCarn on March 12, 2020, 12:04:39 PM Finding a therapist seem very difficult and I will follow the advise on this website but I was wondering if anyone knew of one in the Washington D.C. area. Our BPD family member will not go to treatment but we were thinking it would help if the rest of our family would meet with an expert to get some advise. I have read the Eggshells book twice but would like to talk to someone.

I don't have a Therapist for you but did want to encourage your pursuit of one, and encourage you to hang around here too. There is support and there are tools that can help in how we non-bpd family react and interact with out family members with BPD/BPD Traits. Maybe ask your family physician for some Therapist recommendations to get you started, if you have an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) through your employer that might be another avenue to get some suggested Therapists (and maybe some free visits), ask friends if they know of anyone, or if you are in the states you might check out Psychology Today... https://www.psychologytoday.com/us. Come here anytime you need to talk...we all get it. Panda39 Title: Re: therapist Post by: LouisaCarn on March 16, 2020, 11:19:26 AM Thank you, Panda.
We will keep looking. It is interesting to know that my daughter is also a therapist but knows enough to know that we need someone with experience in BPD and she is helping to look for one also. They are hard to find but we will keep looking. |
