Title: Please Help
Post by: Dmc50 on April 01, 2020, 10:23:53 AM
I'm currently struggling with BPD. I was diagnosed years ago and a little over a year ago got into a relationship with a girl however over the past few months it has been really rocky as I have had a lot of stressors continuously popping in my life. I've been feeling myself spiraling during this time and although I regain some control here and there, I keep losing myself everytime she leaves for even the shortest periods of time and resorting to self destructive behavior (non suicidal) and now I'm losing everything that I've worked so hard to regain. Shes understanding of my condition and doesnt put the immediate blame on me but, how can I just be a normal human being again and stop making all the mistakes I keep making.

DMC50:

I want to first applaud you for your bravery in admitting that you have traits of bpd.  Do you realize what a big win that is?  so many people on this board have struggled because their partner could not admit that they need help.   You mention that you were diagnosed years ago?  how many? what have you done as far as therapies etc?   What kinds of self destructive behavior are you referring to? does it involve pushing her away and then she has to create boundaries for herself?
