Title: where to start
Post by: pebbledash on May 30, 2020, 08:01:05 PM
Hello
My young adult daughter has been diagnosed with BPD. We have been walking on eggshells for years and are feeling quite overwhelmed and trapped. Since being in lockdown due to covid things have just been magnified. Even asking the smallest request = is being met with defiance or ignored. It is taking its toll. The problem is that I don't know where the line between legitimate exhaustion due to depression/anxiety is and what is just pure oppostion because she doesn't want to do the thing requested.   Where do we even begin to get to some kind of cooperation.

What are examples of things you'd like her to do different?

Maybe we can walk alongside you and see if there are small changes that might bring about new behaviors.

How recently was she diagnosed? Was she living independently before lockdown?
