Title: BPD adult son sectioned in a medium secure unit. Post by: LionessMum on June 02, 2020, 07:06:14 AM I have an adult son with borderline personality disorder, he's sectioned in a medium secure unit, I wondered if anyone else has experienced this or know where I could get in touch with other parents in a similar position, its very lonely not knowing anyone else who is going through this.
Title: Re: BPD Post by: Saienne on June 02, 2020, 07:17:25 AM I found it to be a very bewildering and isolating experience - so tough, upsetting and unsettling to watch our young person suffering through it. It was conflicting too, and I felt both guilt and shame, because the mere fact of our young person becoming an inpatient for a period of time gave us some respite and our family a chance to regroup and reinforce ourselves and our relationships.
How are you doing? Are you okay? Sai Title: Re: BPD adult son sectioned in a medium secure unit. Post by: wendydarling on June 03, 2020, 06:37:14 AM Hi LionessMum
I join Sai welcoming you to the group. I too found it lonely and overwhelming. I'm glad you found us, parents here understand and are a great support. Do let us know how you are, we're listening and we are here for you. WDx Title: Re: BPD adult son sectioned in a medium secure unit. Post by: Swimmy55 on June 05, 2020, 08:32:05 AM I echo the others in welcoming you. You can click on my name here and get more of my story. While you are going through this ,it is hell and you will feel a lot of guilt and going over what you think you did wrong. My son's most recent psych ward stay was last year where I had to go to court for emergency petition to have sheriffs come out and take him to the hospital.
Hold on to the fact that he is safe for now and getting help. Glad you are reaching out here. |
