Hi coaster rider,  :hi:

I’d like to welcome you to the family. I’m sorry for the circumstances that led you to us here but I am glad that you have found us. You’re not alone. I don’t have a child with BOD in my life I have an ex I’m sure that another member will come along that has a child. You can take a look at other threads and see if you can relate with others share your story.

It helps to talk to others that can relate with you and we have of members her that get it - as you say. How old is your son? Is he diagnosed with BPD? How did you hear about BPD? I’m looking forward to reading your posts.

Hello there, thank u for responding. My son is 24, and a drug addict. This being said however, he had mental health issues long before the addiction ever started.  I’ve know since he was 2 that something was just ,” off”.  I’m the mother of 3, but this child has always been very different. For YEARS IV had him to therapists, many meds, also has ocd and TOURETTES .  Even with all this, I’ve never felt as if he has been properly diagnosed.  After researching, and researching, I finally came across BPD. It was as if a rainbow and beautiful lights shined on me! I was stunned ! He literally met 7 out of 9 of the listed symptoms, where 5 were needed for diagnosis. He has not been ,” officially diagnosed”, but this IS WHAT HE IS DEALING WITH. I’m an old nurse, my husband is an MD, it IS the diagnosis.  We are attempting to somehow, gently, get HIM to a place where a therapist can evaluate him. He’s currently in drug rehab, so I’ve spoken w/his therapist there, and she believes I have the correct diagnosis as well.  I happen to come across this forum by chance through searching BOD family support groups. This is a really hard thing to live with, and you really do start to question your own sanity ! I’m so glad to be here!
