Title: DBT therapy
Post by: hopefulinMI on July 01, 2020, 06:49:42 AM
Hello,
This is my first post.  I am hoping to find support through this blog as well as hopefully providing support to others.  My 24 yr old son struggles with BPD and OCD.  We have been supportive as a family, but are becoming frustrated.  The situation is creating stress in our marriage as well as stress for our other younger son.  Being the mom, I am torn between trying to help everyone and the stress is wearing me out.  I have been seeing a therapist for a few years, which helps, but I still feel like I'm drowning.
Does anyone know of any good DBT therapists in the Southeast Michigan area?  Or partial hospitalization programs?
Thank you`

Hi there!
Welcome,.  I would first start with asking your personal therapist.  The next step would be to search for  any psych listed under your health insurance plan.  You can also get a list of resources from your county's mental crisis center .
The issue here though is that your son is an adult .  Is he in agreement with getting therapy?   That is a key factor.
