Title: I am losing my marriage to Bpd
Post by: dmar on July 17, 2020, 08:45:20 PM
Hi, I am in need of support, my husband has dpd  and I am trying to support him but it’s been very difficult, I am the target for his distrust and the reason he feels inadequate.  Our 25 year marriage is being ripped apart by his behavior.  He’s is getting therapy but it’s in the early stages and not effective.  He believes that I am cheating and wants to end our marriage, I bc am so hurt and confused and don’t know what to do.  Any advice?

Hello dmar,

Welcome and Im sorry you are hurting. 25 years battling a PD will take its toll. You are on the detaching board, is this your wish for the relationship? The confusion you feel is FOG( fear, obligation, guilt ) and happens to many on here. i wish you well, Peace

He’s is getting therapy but it’s in the early stages and not effective.

Has he been diagnosed with anything? You mention both DPD and BPD, they have many over lapping traits, but some distinct differences.
