Title: I have a Father with Borderline Personality Disorder
Post by: curlysterling on August 07, 2020, 09:54:04 AM
Hello there,

I have a father with BPD. I have been in therapy off and on for the last fifteen years trying to understand my father and needing emotional support to make healthy boundaries with him and others in my life. I am needing further support via an online community or group that I can talk to about the difficulties of this relationship and how to continue to be assertive and not loose my voice. I am wondering if this support group might be a place to do that? Also, if anyone has any other thoughts of where to get support - I am open.

Thank you!

hi and welcome!

We are a close community who are all dealing with a family member with BPD or BPD traits so you are definitely in the right place for support and for working out strategies to cope.   We all listen to and support each other here.

What have you found successful so far and what sort of behaviors does your dad exhibit?

Hope to hear more from you soon.

*welcome*
