Title: My son is a cheater. I want to kill him
Post by: matt87 on August 11, 2020, 08:14:43 AM
As it turns out my son is a cheater! He buys essays at the special website (https://essaytreasures.com  (https://essaytreasures.com)) and gets good grades dishonestly.
I'm so angry that I'm ready to kill him! Please, help me to cope with my anger.

My son tried to do the same thing in college. His professor caught him at it. He had to drop out of his major for a semester and was then let back in. He was lucky that was the only consequence. He got a break because another staff member saw potential in him and because he was remorseful. My son is in recovery from substance use disorder now for over ten years and has left "taking shortcuts" behind, I hope. Usually people who cheat get caught eventually. When they do it's best not to rescue them. Let them experience the consequences of their actions. Getting angry at my son never helped. Temporarily distancing myself from him gave me time to cool off. I wasn't paying for my son's tuition or room and board at the time this happened. If I was I might have considered removing that financial assistance until my son got help. I was so disappointed when he confessed to the cheating but letting him figure it out was empowering to me and to him.
