Title: Helllo

Hello, I am new to this site and this is my first time participating in a discussion board of any kind.  I have a 22-year old daughter with undiagnosed BPD and extreme generalized anxiety.  My daughter is an only child and was adopted through the foster care system at 6 years old.  She is black and my husband and I are both white. This was her second adoption - the first was rescinded after her first adoptive mother beat a foster child to death.  Her story (and therefore, ours) is even more complicated but I won't get into all that right  now.

My daughter has always been very difficult to parent, and now that she is an adult, the situation has become even more confusing and emotional for all involved.

I look forward to participating in these discussions as it is very difficult for others to relate to our family's very unique situation.
Thank you!

Welcome AdoptionisLove,
You are amongst kindred spirits.  I invite you to click onto Peacemom's name. When you do, you will see her previous posts as she too is dealing with a similar situation.  I am sure others with adoptive adult children will chime in.  Is your daughter aware of having BPD traits and anxiety or does she denies these?
