Title: DH of 4 years hospitalized Post by: Miriam88 on August 21, 2020, 07:34:52 PM :help:
I am trying to build a supportive network for myself. My DH of 4 years has been suffering for the last few months. I blamed Covid-19 and the current political unrest, because he became very focused on the BLM movement. He was doing erradic things. He has been in training in another state since June, since then we have barely spoken. Last week he was admitted to the hospital for the first time, although he was sent to psych triage previously and not admitted. My sister, a mental health counselor, told me that I was describing BPD when I told her about his behavior. He had a very traumatic childhood, a history of erratic relationships, trouble forming relationships, and controlling his anger responses. He has a history of angry outbursts and regularly screams so loud I can feel the vibration his voice creates, especially when he screams in the car. I thought he had poor self control and stress management, but now I see there is more to it. He has not told me all the details, but he called 911 last week when he could not stop his hyperventilating rage. He said that they did not help him at the hospital, but humiliated him and robbed him of his humanity. He was given antidepressants. He is currently, telling me that "he needs space". I told him that I understand and it's ok, but I am scared about what will happen when his training ends in a few weeks. I know he is too. |
