Title: Accused of something untrue
Post by: Optimiste on September 02, 2020, 03:12:54 PM
I have tried to validate my adult child’s emotions but am having a hard time with untrue accusations.  Do we just let them go?

Hi Optimiste,
Being blamed is Standard Operating Procedure around here!  Their reality is not ours and please don't define yourself by their reality.  It takes a lot of hard work, but try not to take it too personally.  If there is ranting involved on the bpd's part, a time out ( you put yourself in time out  !) is reasonable.  If you can.  Can you give us an example of what's going on?  Is your adult BPD too dysregulated?  You are not alone.  Share what you are comfortable .

What did you get accused of?
