Title: First Post: love my wife, hate her BPD
Post by: EmotionPilot on September 05, 2020, 07:15:26 PM
Hello!
I am 58 years old and been with my BP wife for 20 years.
Until working with a co-worker for a long stretch last year, I thought my wife was “depressed”, because her emotional instability was “fixed” by Prozac off and on, and I had no other idea why this was happening. My co worker opened my eyes and introduced me to this idea of BPD. I have read the “Eggshells” book, and am working through the workbook and talking to both a couples therapist with my wife and an individual therapist ($$$$$!). It is slow and frustrating work.
Progress is 5 steps forward and 4 steps backward. I am willing to work and willing to change. It just seems so hard. I hate conflict (my wife knows this and uses this!) I hope to get support with this here and look forward to meeting many here with similar issues. I am very grateful for this.
