Title: My girlfriend and my mind
Post by: dr4kee on September 11, 2020, 01:53:09 PM
Hello, I'm 18 year old guy from Europe and I've been dating a girl, who has BPD, Bipolarity and more disorders caused by her boyfriend suicide 2 years ago. It's been 8 months now of dating and I have problems with my mind. It's really hard for me to overcome her mood changes. I love her with all my heart, but with every mood change or with every personal attack that she makes in my direction, I feel like I'm getting weaker and weaker. I've seen many videos and have read many articles about how to act, but it quite didn't help me. I'm writing this during another mood change of hers and I would like to ask you for any tips, to make me feel better and stronger. I try my best to help her, but I kinda miss the motivation, because with me, trying so hard, I have almost nothing in return. I know that it might seem weak, but I haven't met anybody with this, or almost any other disorder before. Thank you for responding!

dr4kee, welcome! we understand how unsettling it can be to deal with BPD. I can relate to your feeling weaker and weaker with each new attack. It is a unique disorder that can make you question and feel uneasy, sometimes feel upside down. You're not alone.

What do her mood swings look like? How do you usually respond?

Take a look around here and read up. It helped me a great deal to read up and understand what was happening. It takes time to feel strong again, but I promise it's possible!
