Title: Married to Bipolar 2 Post by: somegirl76 on September 13, 2020, 09:11:55 PM Hello out there!
I’m new here and was wondering if anyone knows of groups or resources geared toward support for spouses of people with BP II Type? Or anyone who IS one? I’d love to talk to someone in my boat, but it seems Type I is all I come across. Thanks very much! Other than the use of meds. that are targeted towards specific diagnoses, it can be strategic to learn techniques to manage specific behaviors. People with BPD are often diagnosed with multiple mental health issues, and sometimes different professionals will diagnose differently. Bipolar is sometimes in the mix, either along with BPD or instead of BPD. It can be subjective and relate to what a patient demonstrates and/or conveys during a specific point in time. What are some of the problem behaviors? Although you can't change someone, you can strategically change how you react and interact in order to make things better for you. If you go to the large green band, towards the top of the page, you will find a "Tools" menu. Check out the "Workshop" area. You will find communication strategies that can work for you, even with so called "normal" people. |
