Title: Haven't posted for a while Post by: SES on October 02, 2020, 02:00:28 PM I haven't posted for a while.
After three year in court, I had the final hearing for custody this week- finishing today. The Judge wants to consider the case over the weekend before deciding. Ex wants full custody. I want the 50-50 shared care for last five years to stay in place. I hadn't seen my ex up close and personal for quite some time. I hadn't antipicated how traumatic it would feel. I hadn't been braced for the multitude of allegations she made via cross examination (I recognise this was a failing on my part). She was representing herself, so she cross examined me yesterday and today. She is very keen to portray me as a perpetrator of DV, and being controlling and coercive towards her and kids. I have a really good relationship with my kids. Of note, I don't have any criminal convictions, despite years of allegations to the Police, CPS, my employer etc.. CPS are on her side to the extent they fabricated a criminal record for me of DV x2 which they shared with kids schools, my employer (I'm a nurse), my ex etc.. Despite being found out, and knowing I don't have a criminal record, they haven't retracted it. Fair to say I am really worried what the outcome will be. It feels like I remain in a horrible alternative reality. Just blowing off some steam by posting here. How did your lawyer handle and refute the false allegations? How have the children been doing with the 50-50 custody? How are YOU doing? Title: Re: Haven't posted for a while Post by: SES on October 02, 2020, 03:19:03 PM The Judge accepted I don't have a criminal record.
This was her cross examination of me. Much of what she alleged I could only say it didn't happen, and there was no evidence that she could provide other than her own testimony. Kids want 50-50. It has worked well for them. Even CPS gave evidence that they want 50-50. But, CPS recommended that this changes to me seeing them alternate weekends. In UK, courts usually accept the recommendations of CPS. I feel traumatised by the experience over the past few days. |
