Title: Success with BPD daughter
Post by: Isanni on October 07, 2020, 11:22:24 AM
Just an update as we had our 16-yr old daughter home for the first time since January. It was a calm, mostly fun visit.

She went to wilderness and is at a therapeutic boarding school. It's insanely expensive and has brought sanity back into our and her life. She needed to be forced to stop spinning long enough to realize she had major issues and wilderness did that. She needed and needs to continue building skills, and the school is helping her. She also needed to relearn how to learn so that she can eventually go back to a normal school. We needed to become more aware of the roles we play and learn safe communication and the school is helping us. Things can get better! I wish there was more affordable opportunities. For us, we had to force her to go. She was not willing to change. We feel we are getting our daughter back.
Just thought I would share a story of hope and change. Take care!
