Title: New here
Post by: AnnB on October 13, 2020, 11:12:21 PM
Hello,

I just signed on seeking support as my daughter is exhibiting signs of BPD. She is in therapy, seeing a psychiatrist, and we are seeking out intensive therapy (hopefully outpatient) and now seeing a family therapist. The pandemic has seemed to make early signs intensify, which is how we were able to recognize that something beyond adolescence was wrong. She also believes she has BPD and in fact, brought it to her therapist's attention.

After another night of her screaming at me when I talked to her about homework, I started looking around for support elsewhere as I don't want to tell my close friends (who also love her) that I feel like she's abusing me. I hope to hear other stories as well as we go through this journey in trying to help her, and our family.

Thank you.

Welcome! It is great you all are in therapy.
You are not alone here.  You can also click onto anyone's name here as long as you are signed in, to get their backstory.  Yelling , cursing  and meltdowns unfortunately are part of the BPD package.
WHile you are here take a look around the forum.  Look at the drop down menus, etc.  Write back as you have need, we got you.
