Title: I realized my parent was the high end narcissist
Post by: TroutWomen on October 30, 2020, 01:48:19 PM
I have never tried to communicate on a computer before so I hope you get this. I just went on to see the postings and have never done that before. I am in a situation also where i wanted opinions to think about my situation. I have had two very wise people helping me and one is a close friend, we as couples camp together. he is a retired counselor and worked with PTSD Veterans and when i told him of my situation with a parent, he bought me some books on narcissism, I didn't know anything about it but realized my parent was the high end narcissist. the books have slowly helped me thru to being able to make my own wise decisions, i would ask for his opinion, only occasionally because i did not want to miss use our friendship. I also had my parents preacher i consulted in and he must have dealt with narcissism before and has been very supportive and when I asked for his opinion, he would give it. do you have anyone who has come along side you to listen? Hi Troutwoman,
I would have to say it's extremely rare to find someone to come alongside and listen and support.  I think your friend might be a guardian angel *)
