Title: my daughter Post by: meekskr on November 18, 2020, 09:41:40 AM My daughter was recently hospitalized for suicidal thoughts and has been diagnosed with BPD. I am walking on eggshells and don't know how to handle it.

Title: Re: my daughter Post by: Tulipps on November 22, 2020, 03:00:24 PM I'm a newbie to this site as well and hope you find comfort here as I have. There are so many of us in the same boat... my BPD daughter is 33. Reading through the available resources has helped immensely.
Title: Re: my daughter Post by: MamaBear4vr on November 22, 2020, 03:13:13 PM Does she fit the BPD profile pretty closely? I know what you mean. About eggshells. My 17yo was hospitalized for the same reason this summer. She came out in horrible shaped, it reinforced all her fears, anxiety and rage. She's been such a difficult, aggressive, mean, sulky, selfish, entitled/unempathetic person since she got out. Saying unspeakably, abusive things and obviously very sick. I'm sorry you're going through this ❤️ I probably spent two days just googling this disorder reading the Reddit subforums, academic articles about brain function in BPD, and now this forum. It is disturbing and sad as hell.
Title: Re: my daughter Post by: formflier on November 23, 2020, 10:00:59 AM *welcome* We are here for you! Have you gotten the book "Stop Walking on Eggshells"? Many times in posts around here you will see it listed as SWOE. Is this the first hospitalization for your child? Have the doctors that diagnosed her offered any resources? Best, FF |
