Title: starting my education re BPD and looking for support :)
Post by: goodkarma on November 22, 2020, 02:59:19 PM
hello!  i am in the process of reading "stop walking on eggshells" and am looking for support and a safe place to discuss issues.  :)

my current therapist suggested the book and has suggested my bf most likely has BPD.  from my research i am certain he does.  we have been together for 4 yrs and he has made alot of progress with his anger issues (without actually being dxg) and i know he's capable of much more.  i am learning that i have been enabling and encouraging alot of his bad behavior.  recently we have a strong friend group who are seeing his behavior towards me and some of them want to address this with him.  this initially totally freaked me out because i knew he wouldn't handle it well and i would get all the blame...then i realized that he needs to hear this and they will do it in a supportative way.  it's a breathe of fresh air actually having people around us that SEE his behavior and actually want to step in and help.  i have alot to learn because i've been doing so many things wrong (for someone with BPD anyway) and want to make this work. i adore him and am hopeful for progress.

How has this turned out, with people confronting him?
