Title: Partial hospitalization
Post by: Nochtli on November 24, 2020, 04:23:24 AM
Hello. My transgender son was admitted to hospital about a week ago after an episode of extreme emotional dysregulation at school and suicidal ideation/planning. The BDP diagnosis is confirmed. My question is: does anyone have any recommendations on a good DBT focused intensive partial hospitalization programme? We can go anywhere in the US so all ideas are welcome. Thank you.

Welcome
It is good that your BPD child is getting the help.
1. Is he an adult? if not , you could recommendations from the hospital/ psych on his case.

2. I am not sure about DBT focused, but Sheppard Pratt in the Baltimore area did manage to stabilize my son when he was a teen  as he was a part of their partial day program back in 2009.

3.Not partial day programs, but  , I will refer you to a previous post by Carnation that has some ideas on therapists:https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=347207.0

Thank you very much. It is quite a stressful time in the midst of all the rest of the stressors of this year.
